A Special Christmas!

Glimpse into the First Christmas

This year we not only got to celebrate Christmas, but we also got a peak into what the original Christmas must have looked like.  Last week we went to a town called Mussoorie in the foothills of the Himalaya's.  Some friends of ours invited us to join them and a local pastor in a special Christmas presentation in a local village outside of Mussoorie.  This pastor spends his week ministering in various villages tucked into the mountains, praying for people, handing out medicine and teaching the Word of God.  Along our 2 mile walk to the village we passed by a local shepherd boy tending his flock of sheep, as we approached the village we saw a lean-to structure with cows, goats, sheep and a manger.  During the presentation all the people sat on the ground listening to the stories and parables told about Christmas and the birth of the Savior.  At the end of the presentation all those in attendance we given various gifts of clothes and food.

As we took all this in we realized the village Jesus was born into wasn't much different from the one we just walked to.  The shepherd boy along the way was tending sheep just like so many have done throughout history, those sitting on the blankets listening to the stories could have been listening to prophets of old foretelling the birth of a Savior, the cows and goats that we could hear in the distance made the same sound thousands of years ago and children's shouts of joy at the receiving of gifts never changes.
  1. Our kids are still struggling with making local friends.  Please pray for divine connections and great friendships to happen.
  2. We are not quite 100% funded.  We are still 3% short.  Pray for those we have contacted to respond and partner with us financially.  Click below on the "give" button if you would like to partner with us.
  3. We all use our time wisely and grow closer to God during this Christmas season.

Miriam's Massages (or was that messages?)

You know that kids say the darnedest things.  Here you will get a few funny quotes from our kids.
  • "Stinky is our power!" ~Moses

  • "The auto rickshaw driver charges you double because you are white." - Chesna to Moses

  • Chad says "We wouldn't know filet mignon if it hit us in the face." Chesna replies, "Isn't it fish?"

Moses' Corner Kick

School break has started and the soccer season is on mid-season break.  So, Moses' Corner Kick is red carded until next time.
