1.  Chad was able to connect with the India Office Director and a former intern during his recent trip to India.
2.  Music for Life Secondary School campus.  Designed and built by EMI Uganda - Their primary campus was one of the original construction projects of the Uganda office back in 2007.
3.  The EMI Directors!  So grateful for this group of leaders.  Starbucks gift card for the person who comes closest to guessing the number of EMI Director's Conferences Chad has been to.
4.  Chad's region joining together for dinner during the recent Directors Conference.
5.  We had some dear friends visit us last month!  It was great to laugh together, share stories and play games with life long friends!
6.  A huge storm recently came through our neighborhood.  Hundreds of trees were blown down, roofs were damaged and many signs were destroyed by the strong winds!

Bikes, Blessings, and Building Community!

Chad's love for cycling and his heart for service have recently come together in a really exciting way! He has officially started a bike repair club at Shanthi's school. His vision is to provide some basic training to the students, and then together they will serve the local community, offering essential maintenance to the bicycles of the school guards and community. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with people in a practical way and show God's love in action. Please pray for this new ministry as it gets off the ground and for the relationships that will be built through it.

Nurturing Faith in Young Hearts

Shanthi's passion for her students extends beyond the science and math classrooms! She has recently started a high school girls Bible study before school. It's been a joy for her to connect with these young women on a deeper level, explore God's Word together, and encourage them in their faith journeys. Please pray for Shanthi as she leads this group, for the girls who are participating, and for the seeds of faith that will be planted and nurtured.

New Project in India

Chad recently took a trip back to India to begin preparations for an exciting new design project. He spent valuable time with the Office Director laying the groundwork for the masterplan design  for a 160-year-old mission hospital. This is a significant undertaking, and we are thrilled to be a part of work that has had such a lasting impact on the lives of so many. Please pray for wisdom, clarity, and God's guidance as this project moves forward.

Reflecting on Roots and Reconnecting in Uganda

Earlier this month, Chad had the opportunity to travel to Uganda to attend the annual directors conference for EMI. This trip was particularly meaningful as it brought back many memories of our time helping to start the Uganda office back in 2003. It was inspiring to see the amazing completed projects and to hear firsthand what God has done through the Uganda office over the years. The conference also provided an important time to discuss some of the large challenges facing the organization globally. It was a time of both reflection and looking forward, and we are so grateful for the dedicated leadership across all the EMI offices.
  1. EMI is facing serious financial challenges, please pray for wisdom as we try to solve these complicated issues.
  2. We appreciate your continued prayers for our children.  Ask God to meet their needs and to continue to bring wonderful people into their lives.
  3. Please pray for the right people to fill the needs at Shanthi's school next year.  There are many openings!  If you know a teacher interested, here's the link of what positions are open.
  4. Please continue to pray for our office in India and our leadership team.  There are many decisions that need a high degree of communication, unity and wisdom.

Did you know...?

(Switching from science trivia to math trivia)  The tangent of a circle is related to the trig function tangent.  In the picture below, the tangent to the circle is the red line from C to B. The tangent of theta (which is the red angle in the center of the circle) is the same length as the line from C to B! This is only true in a unit circle, that is a circle with a radius of only 1 unit.

Chad loves reading and always has a few books in progress.  Here is a quote from his recent reading

  • The bike provides a means of escape from the confines of home, work, the phone and the inbox - a chance to, temporarily, drop off the radar and disappear.
