A Month to Celebrate!

Homecoming...

We made the long journey back from Egypt to the USA, all set to celebrate some of the most significant milestones in our children's lives. Our hearts are bursting with pride and excitement as we criss-cross the USA to attend two graduations and a wedding!

Miriam's Moment: College Graduation!

First up, Miriam donned her cap and gown to walk across the stage at her college graduation in Southern California. She was able to make top marks and graduated with high honors! Watching her achieve this incredible milestone was an incredible moment. She's worked so hard, and we couldn't be prouder of her determination and accomplishments. Three cheers for Miriam!

Bootcamp Breakthrough!

Next, we headed to Oklahoma to celebrate Moses, who successfully completed his army basic training. The graduation was amazing and it was wonderful to see him and hear his stories!  He will continue in Oklahoma for additional training and then to parts unknown as an artillery specialist.  His dedication to serving our country fills us with immense pride. Way to go, Moses!

Wedding Bells!

The grand finale this month: our oldest son Nathan's wedding to the lovely Hope will happen next week.  Chad is officiating and there will be sure to be tears of joy and pride as we welcome Hope to our family.  Nathan and Hope make such a wonderful couple, and we're ecstatic to welcome Hope into our family. Here's to a lifetime of happiness and adventure for the newlyweds!

New Adventures in Malaysia!

After soaking in all the celebrations, Chad and Shanthi will be heading back overseas in late July. Shanthi is delighted to start her new teaching position at Oasis International School outside of Kuala Lumpur!  Chad will continue in his role of Regional Director with EMI and Shanthi will restart her teaching career, this time with Middle School science and High School math!
  1. Please pray for our travels this summer!  We still have more flights, logistics and trips to plan.
  2. We have been missing community and are looking forward to getting connected with a good church and small group when we arrive in Malaysia.  Please pray that God would lead us to the right place!
  3. Pray for Chad who has been under a lot of stress this last season.  During our time back in the USA he is looking forward to some R & R and fresh vision for the future!
From Last Month - Please pray for us to clearly discern God's will for this next season of our lives.  There seem to be lots of pros and cons to weigh, but mostly we want to go wherever God wants us to go.
Thank you for your prayers!  We are excited to be heading to Malaysia for this next season!
Shanthi's Language Lesson

With the move from Egypt, I  switched languages - again.  I tried Mandarin for about a day and discovered that it's too challenging for me.  I'm about ready to take a break from languages though to start back into the education world.
$5 Starbucks card to someone who gives us the best usable idea for this section to replace the language.

From Chad's Bookshelf

Chad loves reading and always has a few books in progress.  Here is a quote from his recent reading

  • In fact, the climax of history will be the creation of new heavens and a New Earth, a resurrected universe inhabited by resurrected people living with the resurrected Jesus (Revelation 21:1-4).

Alcorn, Randy. Heaven: A Comprehensive Guide to Everything the Bible Says About Our Eternal Home (Clear Answers to 44 Real Questions About the Afterlife, Angels, Resurrection, ... and the Kingdom of God) (Alcorn, Randy) (p. 21). Tyndale House Publishers. Kindle Edition.
