March Madness Unbelievable Stats Chad got the ability to visit a few Bible Colleges in SE Asia with a small group of educators. At one of these schools the leadership said that there are 1,000 churches in the area, but only 400 pastors. Of these 400 pastors only 100 of them have formal Biblical training. At another school they told the story of a teacher meeting with a pastor of 20+ years. The teacher started talking about the Minor and Major Prophets in the Old Testament and the pastor didn't know what the teacher was talking about! Chad and the office have been able to partner with both of these schools to help upgrade and expand their facilities to allow more pastors to be trained and churches to have well equipped leaders of their congregations. The 6th Man! Early February saw the arrival of 3 new interns in our office. We have been so blessed by your prayers for this intern group as we mentioned in our last newsletter. They are helping in the oversight of an ongoing construction project, the design of a new church, laying out an expansion to a nearby school and also are actively involved in discipleship. We have had trainings in architectural design, how to prepare to lead a Bible Study, how to pray through the scriptures and writing professional emails. Our team couldn't have done this without help from the "bench". Half time deals! We found a deal on our tickets - instead of $800ish each for our two months back in the US this summer, we were able to use some credit card points and got a good deal for less than half at $320 each! We land into Sacramento on June 1st and leave July 25th. Let us know if you'll be in the Sacramento area and want to get together during that time. Free throw! Moses got a surprise ticket to Bangkok tournament. See his corner kick below. Chad's extra point! Thank you to everyone who liked Chad's comment on the Shalom Valley FB page. He didn't win, but since Shanthi won her first paycheck substitute teaching, she bought Chad a new phone that takes photos instantly (not 30 seconds later after everyone has left) and won't die with 35% battery left. |
