1.  Crazy cars in Rocklin, CA.
2.  We went to an FC Republic soccer game with Moses' soccer team.
3.  Shanthi & the girls went to San Francisco to pick up our India visas!  All 6 got approved.  Whew!  I thought we were going to have to leave someone behind. :)
5.  Moses' soccer team has been winning games right and left.  Last weekend they got a trophy for their championship!
4.  A couple weeks back we had the pleasure of attending our Uncle Scott & Aunt Sarah's wedding in Tahoe (without the kids ;) )
6.  Nathan just turned 17.  This will likely be our last birthday with him all together as a family of 6.
7.  We celebrated our 9th family day - our holiday commemorating the day we completed our family - by playing games and eating Indian food.  Yum!

Goodbyes are hard!

First Goodbye

Our first goodbye caught us by surprise.  We were hanging out at Chad's dad's house getting the low down on how to maintain his pool when all of a sudden, we had to say goodbye to Marilyn, Chad's step-mom.  She's been so wonderful to us!  Once we said goodbye to her, it was just a matter of moments before we had to say goodbye to his dad.  After we left, we all agreed that we needed ice cream or chocolate to help us cope. ;)

Second Goodbye
We thought we had a home lined up for our dog, Lucy, with our neighbors across the street.  But the day before we moved out, they said they didn't want her.  Ugh! So, fortunately, a facebook friend of Chad's said that she would take Lucy, but she lives in So. Cal.  So another woman stepped in and said that she would board Lucy for 2 weeks until she could go to her next home.  We are so thankful that we didn't have to take her back to the SPCA.  Lucy was literally the last possession to be removed from our house.

Goodbye party!!

If you are receiving this e-mail then we want you to know that you are officially invited to our going away party that is being held at Harvest Community Church in Roseville, CA on Oct 18th from 1 to 4.  We would love to see you before we fly out on the 27th of Oct. It's potluck style, so please RSVP to Shanthi's sister, Ananda, to let her know how many and what you want to bring.  We're looking forward to seeing you there!
  1. The tickets to fly straight to Delhi were the same price as a stopping for a few days in Europe as we fly through, so we're stopping!  But it means that we're limited to only 1 free checked bag per person.  Please pray that we make wise choices as we purge our 9 checked bags into 6.
  2. To finish raising our last 15% of our support well.  We have 25+ people who have said they would like to give, but not how much.  So, we could potentially be done with our support raising and just not know it yet.
  3. For God to continue to make contacts for us for Cambodia.  We've already met tons of people
  4. To say goodbye well.  It's hard.  There are lots of tears.  But those tears mean that we loved well and were loved.

Miriam's Massages (or was that messages?)

You know that kids say the darnedest things.  Here you will get a few funny quotes from our kids.

"My favorite number is 99.  Do you want to know why?  It's right between 98 and 100." ~Miriam

After 11 years of showering, Moses says, "I don't know what shampoo is!"

"On the seventh day they wish they had rested." ~Chesna, while moving.

After saying goodbye to Chad's dad and step-mom Sunday night, I asked him if he was OK.  He said, "This is what it's like when we live half a world away."  Moses, from the back seat, pipes up with, "What? Dark?"

Moses' Corner Kick

I had my soccer tournament last weekend and it was awesome for a couple of reasons. First, most of my tournaments have been up in the mountains, but this one was in Roseville at a park we live close to. Second, during the first game I scored a header and got $5 from my coach. The coach said that this weekend was going to be easy, so all of my teammates thought we would win no problem. But when we played a Lincoln team they really brought it to us . So that game we really had to work hard, but I still scored a goal. We made it to the championship against one of our rivals the Granite Bay Fury. Roseville Rebels have never lost to the Fury so this game was going to be a very stressful one. Fury scored in the first ten minutes and it really brought our team down. In the second half we scored in the first five minutes. We tied the second half so we went into two more five minute halves during which nobody scored. So we went into a shootout . Three people scored on our team. Logan scored the winning goal. We got these big medals and a gigantic trophy. So that's what I did over the weekend.
