In less than 24 hours I will be departing for India to lead a design team with EMI. It is crazy how it worked out, but due to visa issues suddenly changing in India, the project leader who had planned on leading this trip was not able to return to India in time. The team was all in place, the ministry was expecting a design and all that was lacking was someone to lead the team. That is when EMI asked me to lead the trip to design an orphanage and girls home in Bangalore India. Since I had still not found an engineering position and all the costs for the trip were covered by EMI I couldn't pass up the offer! I am excited to return to the mission field and to use my international experience again in such a great way. I will be gone for two weeks and would greatly appreciate your prayers for Shanthi and the kids while I am away and for wisdom as I lead the team.
I talked to Target, where I have been working part time since Christmas, and they gave me the time off, but it was as an unpaid leave. So, we were wondering how we were going to make it with loosing the income while I was away. We prayed that God would provide since we were sure that I was supposed to lead this trip. Just this week a friend who we met after returning to the US came by and gave us a card with a check in it. She said that God wanted them to give this to us and it turned out to be even more than I would have made at Target for the two weeks! What an amazing blessing and testimony to God's faithfulness!
To add to that, I had an interview on Tuesday with an engineering firm a few miles from our house. They are a small company that has been looking to add a Senior Civil Engineer to their staff and on Friday they decided that I was the person that they had been looking for! I received a job offer from them Friday afternoon and quickly accepted the position. I begin work on March 1st as an engineer! What a great way for God to provide for us just before I leave.
We have seen time and again how God has provided for us as we step out in faith to follow Him. What an amazing adventure it is living for Him!
