Sac Museum Day

We'll start these pictures in reverse order. We ended our Sac Museum Day at the Zoo. The kids were very excited to see the snow leopard. The couldn't figure out why this animal is called a red panda. It doesn't look anything like a panda bear.
The orangatan looked like he was in deep thought.
I learned that flamingoes can change color depending on what they eat.
Hey! Our kids got a chance to go to Kampala Cafe in Sac! A bit of home.
There's a really cool store in Old Sac called Trail mix. The kids got a chance to make a planter and plant 6 tomato seeds each. So far, the plants are doing really well and are just about ready to be transplanted.
While in Old Sac, we headed across the street to the Railroad Museum. That was really neat. Lots of trains to walk through like a dining car, a sleeper car, a mail car and tons of other cool things.
We started the day at Sutter's Fort. Since we're studying CA history this year in school (all 3 older kids), I had to work in a bit of school. It was way more informative than I had suspected. Very cool field trip!

One of the cool things about this day (besides all of that being free!) was that Umpqua bank was offering a free family ticket to any museum if you told them one thing you learned. So, even though Chad couldn't be with us for this museum day, we picked up a free pass for all of us to go to another museum. We're thinking of the Aerospace museum.
