Yesterday we had the annual Christmas party. This is a time when we, as the international staff and interns, give back to the national staff who have been working with us during the past year. We make a big meal, give gifts and play different games. This year we had over 50 people in attendance! We gave out tea, sugar, rice and other staple food items for Christmas presents. It also felt like one of the hottest days in quite a while, it sure is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! (Christmas always marks the beginning of the dry season). Many of the local staff will be travelling to their family's home this holiday as the office will be closed from Dec 22 - Jan 2nd. We are saying goodbye to 5 of our interns on Tuesday as they complete their internship and return to the US. It is getting pretty quiet around the office as we have already said goodbye to a few others who returned earlier.
Family Update
- The last week of school! Shanthi and the kids are really excited about having a couple weeks off. The last day is on Friday the 19th and on the 20th we leave for a short family vacation.
EMI & Heritage School Update
- Due to a number of amazing God instances, the EMI office will end the year in the black and with a pretty good financial surplus!
- Chad was the guest speaker at the High School chapel on Friday. He shared how he came the know the Lord in hopes of encouraging the kids there to investigate the claims of Christ as he did.
Praise Reports
- God has allowed us to finish another semester at EMI and at Heritage.
- By some unknown reason, we have been getting free internet at home for the entire year! We cancelled the service at the end of last year, but for some weird reason, we still have internet! It is not the fastest internet around, but it allows us to get our e-mail and check websites on a daily basis!
Prayer Requests
- Pray for protection to the many people in Uganda who will be traveling for the holidays. The roads are the most dangerous place to be in Africa!
Attached Picture
- Chad and the other EMI participants in this years 10 km race. The race was sponsored by, you guessed it, MTN whose color is obviously yellow!
