#131 - MotoCross in Africa

Nov 27 – Dec 8, 2008
Picture of the Week

Yesterday we went to a Mountain Dew sponsored motor cross race! It was a blast! We have 5 people in our family who now want to race motorcycles! I’m advocating BMX bikes first , and tons of protective gear!

Family Update

  • Chesna has been learning how to drive our motorcycle and can begin from a stopped position, shift and stop. Chad is on the back of the motorcycle and helps some.
  • We have just worked through a very long, prayerful process of deciding what our near term future is going to look like. We have determined that at least for a season, we are to return to the USA and leave Uganda and EMI. We still have a lot of questions to work through and lots of decisions to make, but we feel strongly that the Lord has lead us to this step and are confident that He will continue to lead and guide us through all the upcoming decisions. We still have to finalize adoption and won’t leave until that is complete, but are hoping to begin transitioning back to the U.S. next summer.

EMI & Heritage Update

  • Only 9.5 school days left until Christmas holiday!
  • The secondary head teacher is doing a fabulous job! I finally have time to get my work done. YEAH!!
  • It’s that time of year when we have to say good-bye to another group of wonderful interns.
  • Chad’s project trips for the Spring had fallen through and he was trying to figure out what he was going to do. Well… his new trip will be to Ethiopia. He’ll be working with Jim Hall, the new EMI CEO on a project trip to design a hospital expansion. The ministry he will be working with has a website http://www.soddo.org and more details of Chad's trip are on the EMI website at http://www.emiworld.org/projectprofile_5479.html

Praise Reports

  • God is still faithful.
  • Awesome staff at Heritage and EMI.

Prayer Requests

  • The two high school boys: one is very thin, but back at school part time; the other has had some more problems with reactions to medicine.
  • Our final adoption of Moses and Miriam. We’ll begin the process early next year.
  • Spiritual revival at Heritage.

Attached Picture

  • Chad “holding” a very large Dew that is painted on the side of a bus and a couple of high jumps on motor bikes.
