Riding bikes wa a great recreational activity during the Directors Conference.  We got to do a little riding, but not on our tandem this time.

News Report

International Headlines

This year the South Africa office hosted the annual EMI Directors Conference with about 25 people joining from all over the world.  There were sessions on mobilizing people from the Global South (ie: an architect from Cambodia being sent to our office in Uganda), how to help English language learners complete some of the training EMI offers, and how EMI adapts to the changing world of missions.  This annual conference brings together many of the people that Chad works with regularly, so it is good to see them face to face instead of on a Zoom screen. While greatly encouraging to have so many amazing colleagues in one place, the time was filled with meetings, discussions and planning.  After multiple days of 12+ hours in meetings it was nice to enjoy the South African countryside on a short bike ride!

Local Headlines

When we arrived back in Delhi we were in a taxi on our way home and we were given a newspaper to read.  Some headlines caught our eye and we thought you might be interested to see what's being reported here in Delhi.  It is always interesting to see how much coverage there is of the USA in newspapers around the world.  We weren't sure why three months of storms in the USA made headlines in Delhi!

Social Corner

It has been a while since we gave an update on our kids.  They are all experiencing the world of "adulting" in their own way.  Nathan is currently in Denver working as a computer programming engineer.  His current contract expires in June and he will be looking for a new job in the area.  Please let us know if you have any leads!  Chesna has been working at a Physical Therapy office in Washington and is living with some of her college roommates.  Her birthday is just a couple weeks away, so please reach out and wish her a Happy Birthday!  Miriam is nearing the end of her undergraduate studies in Southern California, but has many more years of schooling to go as she pursues an advanced degree in Psychology.  Moses is tearing it up on the volleyball court playing for his university outside of Philadelphia.  He currently leads his team in Aces, Points and Kills.
  1. The MENA office has announced a new director! Please pray for Kendra as she is currently on home assignment and will move her family at the end of the calendar year.  Also pray for Kyle as he steps in as interim director for about 9-12 months.  Chad will be working closely with them through this transition as the office is a part of his region.
  2. Please pray for our kids as they continue to grow, learn and face the challenges of life.  May God protect them, provide a great group of friends for them and lead them as they make so many decisions!

Shanthi's Language Lesson

In anticipation of our upcoming tandem bike tour in Korea, I have switched languages. Korean is written in syllable blocks.  It used to be written top down right to left, but is currently written left to right.
