Praises!! As I read the news, hear stories about the impacts of COVID, see a warehouse in Beirut blow up and watch the political and racial tension in my passport country I find myself overwhelmed, depressed and wanting to throw up my hands in frustration. I don't have quick solutions, I don't know how to help and I don't know the right way to respond. What I do know is that God is near, He is available to provide peace, guidance and direction if we would ask. I also know that only dwelling on the difficult things of life is not healthy. So, this is a list of ways that we have seen God in recent days. We hope that you are encouraged to seek Him and look at your own life to see where God may be working. @ EMI/Petram We have recently been creating videos to promote our work and educate people about the design profession. It has been a great joy to see our staff grow in confidence and promote their fields of expertise. Videos are on the Petram Facebook page and a new one staring Chad and the survey team will be coming out in the next week. @ Logos - After months of uncertainty, the Cambodian government has allowed Logos to open up for in person teaching! Shanthi has started teacher orientation and classes will begin on August 24th!
- Shanthi's workload seems to be quite manageable this year, she will be teaching an AP Calculus course and 2 classes of Algebra II.
- God has provided all the teachers necessary for this school year. It was amazing how it came about - new teachers miraculously obtained visas and passports and a person with a PhD in Spiritual Development who was in between jobs was hired a week prior to orientation.
@ Home - Miriam was able to make it back to the USA in the middle of July without any problems and is now out of quarantine
- Chesna is loved by both of her jobs and recently got an award and gift card for her integrity
- Shanthi was worried about having to get a COVID test in order to teach, but the government just changed the rules and she now doesn't have to!
- Moses recently obtained a scholarship for a college recruiting organization that will promote him to universities throughout the USA
- Nate found a great place to live right near campus and his job
- Chad got to experience the amazing Cambodian hospitality and medical facilities through an emergency operation. They took great care of him and the right doctors were there at the right time and they knew exactly what to do.
@ the Bible Psalm 62:5-8 has recently been our comfort. We pray that it would bring you comfort as well. Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. |
