Saying goodbye and Happy Birthday at the same time!
Christmas the Season of... Goodbyes?
Christmas is typically a time of cheer, joy and new beginnings. However, in the last month we have said goodbye to far too many people! Just a few weeks ago Chad went to a Men's Breakfast where they were honoring someone leaving Cambodia after 5 years, he then went for a bike ride with a teacher who will be leaving at the end of this school year. That night our family went to a small group in which the leaders had just announced their return to Canada and the weekend ended by attending a farewell/birthday party for another friend! We are so grateful to be in Cambodia and God is really doing great things. However, Christmas away from family while saying goodbye to others makes this a difficult time for our family!
In spite of the goodbyes, we are fortunate to say "Hello" to both Nathan and Chesna who are returning from University to join us for Christmas as well as other dear friends who will be in Cambodia for 3 months!
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support as we complete our 2nd year in Cambodia and begin new friendships! We hope that you have a wonderful holiday season!
