Final Preparations

Security Training

Why did we go off to the Texas countryside to shoot guns, hang out with former Special Forces operatives and get carjacked?  All in the name of preparation for our upcoming move to Cambodia.  Our team took part in a 4 day intensive security training to help prepare us for potential dire situations.  We hope to never have to use this training, but it gave us more confidence and an opportunity to role play emergency situations.  Shooting of the guns was an optional activity for those of us unfamiliar with firearms.

Back in Sacramento

Our travels in the US have come to an end!  After 15,000 miles of driving, countless gas station stops and crisscrossing the country multiple times we have landed in Sacramento.  We plan on staying here until we depart for Cambodia on the 5th of January.  Our focus now turns to our final preparations such as finding a place to stay once we land in Cambodia, repacking our suitcases, purging our storage unit and spending time with extended family.

School Fees

Next semester Chesna, Miriam and Moses will be attending Logos School in Cambodia.  Our last newsletter asked for year end donations to meet this unexpected need.  Nearly half of the school fees for the upcoming semester have been donated!  Thank you so much to those who gave!  If you would still like to be a part of sending our kids to Logos please click on the link below.  All donations are tax deductible and will go towards our kids school fees.
Give Towards School Fees
  1. Pray that we would have great opportunities to visit with family and friends before departing in 3 weeks for Cambodia.
  2. Pray for Nathan as he begins final's week on December 14th.
  3. There are still many things remaining to finalize prior to our move.  Pray that all the logistics come together at the perfect time.
  4. We are still about 1/2 way funded for this coming semester at Logos.  Pray that God would provide as He has always done.

Miriam's Massages (or was that messages?)

You know that kids say the darnedest things.  Here you will get a few funny quotes from our kids.
  • "If you were a booger I'd pick you first!" - Moses' proposed pick up line (we don't anticipate him dating any time soon)
  • "Whoa!  That car is looks like a Toyota with a Chevy and a little bit of Cadillac thrown in." - Miriam

Moses' Corner Kick

Its that time of year again.  The time of caroling and candy canes.  Hearing the same songs on the radio over and over again - the warm Christmas spirit.  My favorite part about Christmas is that they bring back candy canes.  But to be honest, I also like the presents.  I also like egg nog, especially our homemade eggnog that we make on Christmas Eve.
