Vol 2 Issue 5

1.  Chesna and her friend Elizabeth Givens.  She was able to go on vacation with them for 2 weeks to see Storybrook (from Once Upon a Time), FIFA women's 3rd place game, and Glacier National park.
2.  Moses during his first soccer tournament, held in South Lake Tahoe.  Next weekend we'll head to Santa Cruz for his 2nd tournament.
3.  We had a huge work party and replaced tons of siding around the house!  Thank you to everyone who helped out.  It was a HUGE blessing!  We had lots of dry rot!  A great contractor did most of

Get Set...

Our house is on the Market!

After 2 months of nearly daily work getting our house ready, we are ready to list our house!  We have an awesome real estate agent!  He's been very encouraging and professional and helpful and we'd highly recommend him to anyone who needs one.  If you want to check out our house in its pristine state (or at least as good as it's going to get), click here.  We are hoping that we will be able to use the profit from the house to subsidize the airline tickets and our start up costs, including language school in Cambodia and MTI in Colorado Springs.

If we sell our house quickly and haven't raised the rest of our support, Chad's dad has graciously offered for us to stay at his house.  He'll be on a road trip for most of September and October anyway.  It seems a very fitting end to our time in the US as we started our time in the US staying with him as well.

What's coming up next?
Shanthi and Nathan are headed to Calvin College this weekend while Chad and the kids stay home for Miriam's play at church.  The following weekend we're headed to Santa Cruz for Moses' second soccer tournament. The first weekend of August is Moses' 11th birthday and Nathan, Chesna and Shanthi go to Oregon to look at a couple of colleges.  Our 21st anniversary is coming up the 13th of August.  Life is keeping us active.

Fundraising

We are currently at 32% of our necessary monthly budget.  If you would be willing to join our financial support team, click here.  If you'd be willing to join our prayer support team click here.  Now that we've got our house on the market, we'll have more time to devote to raising our support.

SIDE NOTE: Just before I sent this out, we have our first house showing at 12:30 today!  And we went from 30% to 32%.  God is moving quickly in our lives!
  1. For Moses to finish fundraising (see below).
  2. For us to sell our house quickly with minimal/no more fix it costs.
  3. For wisdom for us as we explore colleges for Nathan.

the $8,000 worth of work on the second story of our house.  We did the easy part - and it turned out not as easy as we thought it would be.  Isn't that the way it always is with home improvement?
4.  Our nephew Adam (9 mo) exploring his tongue and seeing what happens when he sticks it out at his "Ziva" (aka Shanthi).
5.  Every summer our niece comes to visit.  This last time, we went to the Legion of Honor and the Conservatory of Flowers in SF.

Moses' Corner Kick

Have you ever been in debt for a lot of money? Well I have. I play soccer for a competitive team and it costs a lot of money because I need a uniform, a backpack and a bunch of other things. At the beginning of the soccer season I had to raise $750. When I started to fundraise I only made $100  in 2 months, but in June and July I've raised $400!!!!! So I'm almost done and when I'm done fund raising I'm going to yell I'm debt free. I may even call in to the Dave Ramsey show.  ; )
