Picture of the Week
Ever seen a wooden twin bed frame on a bicycle? Or a tv? Or a computer? The family that has been staying with us for the past 3 years has moved out. They moved all their belongings via bicycle to their new place about a mile away. It took them about 12 trips!
Family Update
- We met with the judge on Tuesday. She said she will give her ruling on July 8th. This means that we’ll stay here in Uganda for another month.
- Miriam just got her hair braided. It took 9 hours and looks great, she has long hair again!
- We’ll be using this extra month to do all the special Ugandan things we can do: swim, bird watch, eat avocados, mangos, pineapples, ndezi (small sweet banana) and drink African tea. Oh, and play Settlers!
Praise Reports
- Chad met with the US Embassy. They said as soon as we have the court’s ruling it should be fairly quick to process the visa documents for Moses and Miriam. This will make them both US citizens once we land in Colorado.
- Our court date happened without being postponed, although the judge threatened to postpone it by 2 weeks! There were lots of things that could have gone wrong at court, but they didn’t.
- We got to see M & M’s grandpa again (Thomas). He reiterated to several people that he’s so thankful that we came along to care for M & M. He believes that they would have died if we hadn’t taken them in. He just was not able to care for them. Oh, and we found out that he’s 84 and still working! He’s been working 59 years!
- Safari was great! We saw elephants, hippos, crocodiles, zebra, a lioness, antelope, and several birds. Plus the kids got to go swimming – which is what they really wanted. (There was a pool at the hotel – they didn’t swim with the hippos and crocs).
Prayer Requests
- Pray that the judge’s ruling would be favorable and would actually be issued on the 8th of July and not pushed back even further.
- Pray that we don’t drive each other nuts. Summer holiday is usually nuts with mom and 4 kids off the school schedule, but now we’ve added a dad in as well.
- Continue to pray for our transition back to the USA - we are still looking for a job, a place to live, and a vehicle.
Attached Picture
- The little boy who lived here, Blessiou.
- Chad on the day of court, getting ready to go by boda to the lawyer to finish up documents.
- We met one of Thomas’ daughters (from a different wife than M & M’s mom) who lives less than 5 miles away. We didn’t even know she lived there until Tuesday. Her girl Linda (M & M’s cousin) came as well.
Because of Him,
The Gamble Family
