Picture of the Week
We’ve handed over the responsibilities of our jobs to the next person to take up the baton. It feels good to be just a mom again for me and awkward for Chad who’s not sure what he should be doing now that we’re in the transition. We leave tomorrow morning to take Miriam and Moses on safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. They’ve never been on safari and we’re hoping they’re old enough now to remember this awesome opportunity of seeing elephants, giraffes, water buffalo, lion, zebra, and hippos. Plus, we’re hoping to identify some new birds!
Family Update
- Soon after we get back from safari on Saturday, Miriam and Moses will get their medical check up on Monday, we’ll go to court on Tuesday, on Wednesday Nathan gets the dent in his front tooth filled, hopefully we hear on Thursday the judge’s decision, Friday we have an appointment with the US Embassy to discuss that part of the process. Our departure date is supposed to be the following Wednesday.
- Chad bought his very first suit! And it looks so good on him. If nothing else, he should impress the judge in court next Tuesday.
EMI & Heritage School Update
- We’ve passed off our responsibilities, but it’s nice to be around a few extra weeks to help out and answer questions.
Praise Reports
- We have been selling tons of stuff. There’s not much left.
- We’ve been able to play TONS of Settlers now that we’re both not working. If you haven’t played this game before, we highly recommend it. If you have, then let’s get together and play!
Prayer Requests
- Pray that all would come together for a departure on the 24th of June. We need the judge to be healthy and show up, we need M & M’s grandpa to come safely to Kampala, we need the judge to make a decision in our favor within 2 days, and we need the US Embassy to move quickly on their paperwork. We’re hoping God will make a way for 3 weeks of paperwork and process to be done in 1 week.
- Pray for safety as we travel on safari.
- Pray for our transition back to the USA - we are looking for a job, a place to live, a vehicle, etc.
Attached Picture
- These two hammerkops have been building a nest in our tree for the past few weeks. Unfortunately we won’t be here to see the eggs hatch and the babies try to fly. We wish they had started earlier. Why wait for the past 4 years only to build one the last 4 weeks of our stay in Uganda!
