Gamble's Newsletter 144 - Still Job Hunting

September 5October 13, 2009

Picture of the Week
  • My Paypal / Amazon / Ebay accounts all have about 15 different addresses associated with them. In Uganda anytime I wanted to order something I had to plan well in advance to coordinate with the next group of volunteers coming over. I first had to ask them if they would have space available in their luggage, then find out where to send it and what was the last day that they were going to be at that address. I would then go online to determine how long it would take to process an order after I placed it, which method of shipping would guarantee that it arrived in time, see if any holidays where coming up which could affect shipping or processing times and then add a new shipping address to my account, place the order and hope that the online company would not reject my order that was coming from a computer in Uganda shipping to an address that was not my credit card billing address! It really was amazing how many items actually made it to me in Uganda! Now we have a shipping address in the US that is the same as our credit card billing address and we can ship things directly to us with the Amazon Super Saving Shipping that takes 5-9 days! We love being back in America!
EMI/Heritage Update
  • EMI has graciously allowed our financial account to remain open and to continue processing donations for us. If you would like to continue supporting us during this transition please let us know. If you had an automatic credit card donation set up these will need to be reinitiated.

Family Update

  • We had hoped to be able to send out this newsletter with great news about Chad getting a job, but there has not been any progress yet. He has contacted a number of firms and applied for many positions, but has yet to even have an interview. He is pretty discouraged.
  • We had a wonderful trip to Oregon in September. It was great to see many friends and to attend our home church there!
  • We have moved into our apartment! The pictures are up on the wall, all the boxes are gone and we feel settled. It is so nice to have a home again!
  • We have a new church! After a lot of prayer and attending a number of different churches, we have decided to join Harvest Community Church (http://www.harvestfamily.net).

Praise Reports

  • Many people have given extra financial support to help us in our transition! Thank you so much for your generosity!
  • God has provided a wonderful apartment for us and a new church home! We thank Him for His leading and guiding.

Prayer Requests

  • A job for Chad.
