Shanthi's 33rd Birthday

June 12, 2007 - What I thought was going to be a boring birthday, bypassed again with the shuffle of interns, project trips, and end of school, turned out to be a very wonderful and relaxing day. It started the night before with ice cream and a royal invitation. I met two of our cool interns at La Patisserie and had a cherry cream puff and African Tea. From there, we went to the office, where I laid on the couch and read a book. Then Janet, a staff member, took me to Ketch the Sun restaurant. Then I returned to the office where I drank more tea (this time British) while I waited for our ladies Bible study to begin. After Bible study, I went home where I was met by my mom who made sushi with me - YUM!!! - and Chad who had already made bulgolgi (Korean BBQ) and rice. It was topped off with a childhood favorite, cherries jubilee, made by my mom. No one else had ever had it besides me and my mom. It was cool to see the kids eyes light up. There are pictures at our photo site: www.albulmtown.com/GamblesNUganda.
